Concordia Lutheran Church

The Youth Ministry Board would like to thank Julia Bjorklund and Kim Christensen for their service to the Board for the last two years. Their terms of office are expiring and at the Youth Group meeting on August 3rd, we will elect their replacements. For more information about the positions, please see any of the current board members: Duane Bjorklund, Julia Bjorklund, Carol Childers, Donna Christensen and Kim Christensen. If you are interested in serving on the Youth Ministry Board, please be at the August Youth Group Meeting.

Indiana Dunes – the Youth Group is sponsoring a day trip to the Indiana Dunes on August 9th. We’ll be leaving from the church at 8:45am and return between 7:00 and 8:00pm. Cost for the day is $5. You will also need money for lunch and dinner. Permission slips are required and will be available on the Youth Group bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall.

Bristol Renaissance Faire – Mr. Neal will once again lead an expedition to the days of yore. We shall journey forth on Saturday, August 16th. Exact times and cost are still being determined. Information will be posted in the church bulletin and on the Youth Group bulletin board as soon as it is available. Permission slips will also be available on the bulletin board.

National Youth Gathering information meetings: On Sunday September 14 and Sunday September 21, we will be holding brief informational meetings regarding the 2010 National Youth Gathering. The meetings will be held between services at the church.

2010 National LCMS Youth Gathering

July 17 - 21, 2010

The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod has announced the dates and theme for the 2010 Youth Gathering (see above). For the first time ever, the Gathering will be open to all youth who:

Are 14 years old at the time of the Gathering; OR
Entering their freshman year of high school at the time of the Gathering; OR
Graduated from high school in 2010;
Have not yet turned 21 at the time of the Gathering.

Youth Group is open to all members of Concordia from 6th grade through high school (and beyond), including those in Confirmation Class. Members are encouraged to bring friends to our meetings and events. For more information about the Youth Group or any Youth Group activity, please contact Duane Bjorklund (708-594-7924).
