Deaths

Services were held for Bunny Pekoc on Thursday, August 26. Bunny was a long time member who moved to Indiana a while back to spend time with her family.
She is now with her Lord in heaven.

YOU CAN HELP OUR LUTHERAN SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN STAY SPIRITUALLY STRONG while they serve by enrolling them in the Ministry-by Mail program.  The LCMS is the only denomination to support its members serving in the Armed Forces in such a direct way.  Servicemen and women receive materials in an initial packet when their name is put into the program.  They then regularly receive copies of Portals of Prayer.  TO ADD A FAMILY MEMBER OR UPDATE AN ADDRESS FOR THE PROGRAM, CALL 1-800-433-3954 OR SEND IT TO lcmschaps@lcms.org.

• THE LWML publishes a “MONTHLY GOSPEL OUTREACH TIP” /“MISSION MOMENT” INSERT which is inserted in the bulletins on the first Sunday of the month.  (Extra copies are available in the Narthex.)
• EYEGLASSES FOR M.O.S.T. MINISTRIES…PLEASE CONTINUE TO BRING USED GLASSES.  The glasses must be single vision (bi-focal or tri-focal glasses cannot be used).  PLACE ANY DONATIONS INTO THE SPECIALLY MARKED BOX IN THE FELLOWSHIP HALL.  (Eyeglass cases can also be used.  Put them in the same collection box.)
• CHECK OUT THE L.W.M.L. ARTICLE IN THE CHIMES.  WE ARE CERTAIN THAT YOU WILL FIND IT VERY INFORMATIVE.  THINK ABOUT JOINING US IN THE FALL.  OUR FIRST MEETING WILL BE MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 13TH.

OPEN REGISTRATION IS UNDERWAY.  Students must be potty trained and age three or four by September 1, 2010.  Tuition for the Mon-Tues-Wed class is $165 per month and for the Thurs-Friday class tuition is $135 per month.  Parents are welcome to visit our classroom.  Printed information is available in the Narthex or by calling Little Lambs at 708-795-7563.

BIBLE STUDY

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY MEETS ON FRIDAY MORNINGS AT 9:30 A.M. AS ANNOUNCED IN THE BULLETIN.  THEIR NEW TOPIC IS, “I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST”.  KAY MATTHEWS IS LEADING THE STUDY.

Volunteers needed

Volunteers are needed to type the Grandparent’s list. It must be done the week of Sept. 7th – only 4 days that week. After typing the list the person must make all changes/corrections found by our proofreader.
Please contact the office if you have time for and are willing to do this work in the office.

Cub Scouts

Work is under way to start a Cub Scout pack here at Concordia. This pack will be for kids from 1st to 5th grade. There will be a kick-off meeting with parents on Wed, Sept. 8th at 7 PM in the fellowship hall.
